Baseline study on the sexual and reproductive health of vulnerable people and adolescents in remote areas

Adults’ and adolescents’ access and latitude in using sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services are essential for the social and economic development of children, families, communities and nations. Conducted by IES, this study was carried out as part of Concern Worldwide’s Strategy for Gender Equality and Protection (2022-2026). One of the objectives of this strategy is to integrate cross-cutting approaches to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Family Planning into Concern’s programming in the DRC through one or more multi-sectoral intervention(s) in the remote health zones of Beni (North Kivu) and Nyunzu (Tanganyika). Using a mixed-method approach involving quantitative and qualitative surveys, the study presents the current state of knowledge, attitudes and practices, as well as the factors influencing access to SRH/FP information and services for populations aged between 15 and 49.
